Isn't That Something?

After twenty five years
I was next to nothing
unimportant
that's what I recall


having friends that are hard to remember

what I remember

is they were off the wall



but I remember thinking
isn't that something?
looking for the answers with all my confused friends


some were gamblers
some were dancers

I plan to make plans to maybe see them again


it was maybe March
I didn't feeling like marching
a different drum
kept me going on

it was a gospel singer who got my attention

the kind that attracted
vagabonds


But jeepers creepers
isn't that something?
that totally blind as I was
I could have new sight

It was a different drum
making
an announcemet

I am in a new place
that's made of light.




And so I remember
what I need to remember
and I've forgotten what I need to forget

I lost my friends
and my good bad habits

but Truth is a habit
with no regrets

but how about that?
isn't that something?

knowing life is a miracle
get on that bus

now it's just me and my happy destinations


We can take you places
leave the driving to us

Look at me
isn't that something?
I never expected
the kind of life I got

I use to be afraid
of the things I was saying

now I'm glad
of the things I'm not
