The Promised Land
#WritcoPoemPrompt24
Dark is the night,
Darker the soul,
Fathomless depths,
Stories untold.
A world of stars,
All missing from the sky,
A few dreams lived,
A million of them sold.
Mouths are shut,
Tongues are cut,
Heart full of sorrow
Heads down with guilt.
In the Promised land far away,
A woman's wail is echoed
The mother in her has died.
Alas! We've slaughtered her child.
We are all criminals,
We are all oppressors in disguise,
For We have been silent far too long,
We have let our brethren fall.
The children are suffering,
Families have been broken,
Humanity has been killed,
We have all played our part.
