RAW WAR
RAW WAR

If we hold ourselves at gunpoint
Who would be first to pull the trigger?
As in war, everyone has the right to kill

If we boil in rage and hate against each other
Who would be the first to explode?
Such like we speak love and then practice hate

Who started this deception?
Who holds this perception?

I saw the sparks in your eyes
That I often mistook for love

But it veered around into a fire that
Burnt down your neighbour's barn

Keep me at arm's length
When in a fight for no reason

For a poison that killed a fellow
In the guise of a cup of juice

Would claim two brothers
In loggerheads for a piece of land

How long does conflicts last?
Is it until the temper cools?

We don’t have to be hostile forever
There’s always an end to everything

But if this has no end yet, then
We rather begin to count our losses

In days we hunt for animals
We tan hides and fly feathers

When we hunt, haunt, and taunt ourselves
We spill blood and count unnumbered skulls

Which road leads to harmony?
Which is which that speaks peace?

Nobody sees… the eyes are shut in greed
Nobody knows and everybody thinks it right.

See how long we have lived in the dark
So long so bad to worsen our mindset

There’s something wrong with you
And it’s same thing bothering me

Such sickness that has no cure
Such sin that marks man no pure

‘Twas them, then you, then I
‘Twas raw, then arms, then war

If we don’t fix the leakages in the pipeline
Wash off the spot stains in our bloodline
And urge willed people to man the frontlines
In no time, death toll will surge on the headlines.
