Beneath a sad, lonely tree
Mostly I cry myself off to sleep
I sing sad songs with that weeping willow tree
Singing sad songs with whispering leaves
The Willow weeps while I sit here and sing
It sings while I hold on to my sanity
Something I lost deep in the sea
Where God forsake any promise to keep
