The skies were pouring down
Heavy it landed on our faces
Drenched we were as we ran
Dripping from head to toe
As if we noticed.
The Grown-ups yelled at us to return
But we were undeterred
Dancing in the rain,
Creating a whirlwind of water,
Splashing it everywhere,
Laughing exuberantly
As we frolicked up until
The last drops of rainfall
This was what we lived for
Our ultimate thrill
Revelling in the rain.
