preoccupied i have been ,
with situations and circumstances that may or may not be
contributory to my living ;

i arise with the new day , everyday,
and i find myself
watering an old tree ;

now a lot are familiar with the terms of giving ,
knowing fully well that in time
there would be the receiving ;

time seems so slow these days ,
and yet so fast as it goes by
all the swift .

another year has passed ,
and i wonder if i am still
the same old me ;

growth and development are seen
but are they really
contributing to the person of me?

all i do is work and sleep
and drink and make daily sacrifices
to the god of the food that i must eat ;

truth be said as it is mentioned
in Ecclesiastes ;
all of living is but a striving after hallow wind .

however, it is imperative
that even in the meaninglessness of life
that i may find for myself, purpose , and yes, meaning.

though i am glad as in the words of
bellion jon ,
living my life , preoccupied .
