Why not ?

Why not love the people in your life when they're alive Tell them what they did right.
When they're with you while taking a stroll
While in the car listening to rock n roll
Or after the company softball game
Perhaps while out to lunch at a favorite pub
When enjoying a win by your beloved sports club
How bout in the hot tub after a jog
When gathering firewood because the fireplace needs another log
When having dinner with your friend or that special someone
These are the moments when we need to share
The time to tell them we care
Not when it's over
and it's time for the funeral and wake
Not when they're being put in the ground and exchanging grieving
hugs and handshakes
And certainly not when back at the pub three drinks in
Because that my friends would be a sin
So if you love and care about people
Tell them now, today , cause it matters
Not when you are taken by surprise of their passing and your life now is truly in tatters
Do it yesterday
because sometimes
there is no tomorrow and then all you have left is sorrow
Special Memories should be for the living too.
