I gulped the words down my throat.
Didn't he think before what he'd said?
Was I that waspish? Was I that unbearable?

He'd said, "I'll never leave you alone"
I remembered with my eyes closed.
Didn't he mean what he'd really said?
Was I that foolish? Was I that thoughtless?

He'd said, "I love you so much"
I rewinded the words on in my mind.
Didn't he feel anything at all?
Was I that easy to prey upon? Was I that unmindful?

I remain unanswered.
He doesn't seem to care.
Those words haunt me, I wish I never heard.
To let my heart out to anyone, I am now terribly scared.
