Between the Gods of Numb and Gloom
Two monsters chase me from dreams
to this land of reality—nightmares—
with an incessant greed to devour
my sanity. They never capitulate
in their war for my doom. Vacuous
I sit and lay, unable to bear the brunt
of their assault, but I prefer the lesser
of the evils—the vast open realm of numb.
