Broken Dreams
What is left
When I decide to slowly erase
Every last one of the words you said
Surfacing through my subconscious
In every minute spent alone
What reality can I ever accept
If there exists one at all
Beyond the dream I dreamt
To not feel alone
And now,
I look at the pieces of us,
But they are my own thoughts
And all there is to see,
A broken dream
Having wished for things to be different
Having hoped for things to be more
Grief has manifested
Itself into my being
Infesting heart and soul
A broken dream
That I keep alive
To not feel
What I don't know
A broken dream
That I hold on to
So I never have to move on
A broken dream
In which I am awake
A broken dream
