When Shadows Fall
In darkness, I lay down my fight,
Exhausted, worn, without a light.
The weight of the world, I can no longer bear,
My dreams, like embers, fade to gray.
The fire that once burned, now reduced to ash,
My heart, a hollow, echoing pass.
I search for strength, but find none to hold,
My spirit, broken, grows cold.
The road ahead, once clear and bright,
Now shrouded in an endless night.
I stumble, lost, without a guide,
My will, a fragile, flickering tide.
But in the silence, a whisper speaks,
"A moment's pause, not eternal seeks."
For in the darkness, seeds take root,
And from the ashes, new life shoots.
Perhaps, in surrender, I find
A chance to recharge, re-align.
To rediscover purpose, renewed and strong,
And rise again, where I once went wrong.
So I'll lay down my arms, for now,
And rest, allowing healing to grow.
For giving up, doesn't mean defeat,
But wisdom in acknowledging my limit's beat.
