In quiet places where shadows lie,
I kept a secret but didn’t try
To tell you what I felt inside,
Afraid of what you might decide.

I feared the loss, I feared the shame,
So in the dark, I kept my blame.
The chance was small, and time went by,
And now I just wonder why.

I couldn’t confess when I had the chance,
Now I only dream of that lost dance.
A lesson learned, a quiet ache,
A memory that I can’t remake.
