The Soldiers
The soldiers were meant to protect us.
They were meant to care for us,
They were meant to fight for us,
They were meant to live for us,
That we may live for them.
They were meant to do many things,
Even kill for us,
So, how,
How did they do the exact opposite?
Were we not important?
Did we not matter?
Well, here's what happened.
The soldiers stopped protecting us,
They stopped caring for us,
They stopped fighting for us,
They stopped living for us,
So we stopped living for them.
They killed us,
They raped us,
One with a knife,
The other without protection.
Once killed,
They threw us,
Once raped,
They killed us.
It was a vicious cycle that ended,
With the last person's pure blood,
Spilled and wasted.
These are for those times, war got the best of us, made those left to take care of us, hurt us in the end.
