Writer’s Block
What happens when the words don't flow
as fast and quick and easily as the tears
and the way you cope becomes your foe
leaving you deserted an alone with your fears?

What happens when you're abandoned by prose
who had gotten you through hell once before;
what happens when all the doors close
before more are opened to explore?

What happens when your rock and foundation
turned out to be poorly constructed
so that your safe and comfortable sensation
was violently and unforeseeably obstructed?

What happens when a poet's pen runs out of ink
and the chaos in their heads is too much to materialize
—is this what pushes us writers to the brink,
an apathetic brink without compromise?

What happens when your pages are blank
with your failure and uninspiring thoughts
and in this depression you sank,
tongue tied in dyslexic knots?
