And there I stood
Watching as my family laughed and loved
Sharing smiles and stories of their day
But I stayed quite, not belonging
I was lost, lost to my depression, my anxiety, and my insecurities
And so there I stood
Hoping to find myself in their warm arms
And caring eyes
To find myself with their loving words, teasing jokes, and comforting melodies
