The first kiss isn't special
It holds no magic
It's just like the next
If anything it gets better
The one's who say that
They wasted theirs

Money is just paper
until people give it a value
five for a meal
ten for a treat
a kiss is the same
to experience the magic
to make a kiss so special
takes patience
takes strength
to wait for a person
not a person to hold
not a person to love
not a person to walk with
but a person to talk with
a person to protect
a person to cherish
not as a toy
not a plaything
not a lover
not a trophy
but as a partner
as a trusted companion
a best friend
a confidant
one who critiques
one who confides
one you don't want to kiss
because you know the value
of friendship over romance
of trust over lust
of love over sex
of fact over feeling
of bliss over a kiss
of patience over desire
of investing that kiss
that kiss's value increasing
every month it doubles
every year you get closer
and when you withdraw
that kiss is worth this
so much more then a kiss
something they won'tl understand
they won't clap your back
they won't wink and be proud
but you'll feel that pride
you'll feel no remorse
that person won't leave
like every other you toyed
you won't be alone
because they know you're there
because you proved how you cared
how important it was
time heals
time builds
the house built in a month
lasts a few months
the house built is a year
lasts a few years
the house built for fun times
is full when problems come about
the house built on a guess
eventually will loose that bet
the house built in a decade
will last a lifetime
the house built on commitment
will last an eternity
happiness won't last
unless you invest in it first
I wasted my first
but with what's left I'll invest
if till my death I'll hold pride
wearing it as a badge
a badge of honor
and if that person comes
then I'll experience the magic
because I'll know
the wait paid off
they'll think I'm weird
wasting my time
could've enjoyed so much more
but I'll know
my best friend will know
as we walk
as we talk
