Poem based on Real Incident. My Life wasn't my very Own.
Was this the fate
Written on my hands
In the lines of my palm.
If I knew
Could I have erased it
To retrace it and lived a little long.
I had million dreams
But never thought they would end this way
Making me feel my life wasn't my very own.

Every breath I took
Were no longer mine
They made me borrow
From time to time
I screamed and begged
To let my life slip away
But they didn't listen to my plead for 83 days
What remained of me
Were some minor fragments of skin and bone
Every chromosome was burnt
I had nothing on me left on
My heart stopped beating
But they didn't let me go
Pumping blood into me
When I didn't wish to carry on
My requests fell on deaf ears
They made me feel my life wasn't my very own.

My eyes begin to bleed
And so did every bit of my skin pores
Like a guinea pig
They tied me to poles
All I wanted was to go home
My soul to be freed to go where it belonged
It wasn't in my destiny to pass away so soon
They made me go through agony in name of science to boon.

Was this my fate
Written in the lines of my palm
If I knew it
How I wish I could erase to retrace it
And didn't suffer this long.

PS: This poem is based on a real incident of HISASHI OUCHI, THE VICTIM OF BEYOND FATAL RADIATION KEPT ALIVE FOR 83 DAYS AGAINST HIS WILL.
