Have you ever
crawled within
the cavernous nook
of your depleted soul,

built a fort
and stayed until
another comet
kissed the earth for
another quarter of
a millennia?

No?

I have.

I have watched
the city dwellers
build their iron
fortresses and
faked serenity
in chewable pebbles.

I have seen the night
wither into
a smog paradise
and oceans turned
into cesspool of
human endeavours.

I have tasted
the ever-changing
tang of blood,
amalgamated with

Earth's sadistic
evolution.

Salt, metal, fear:

humanity's
distinct artificial
imprint.

And yet—

as years tumbled on
until all the grays melted
into one black
hole of unreachable
obsidian abyss.

I am left with
the aching notion

that we are all
empty carcasses
in the wake of the
beating blue sunrise.

Always searching
for that unknown,
for the manna
that which heaven
could never fully
bequeath the folly.

I am many ages–

and still my soul
is in it's infancy,
awaiting true death
amidst the array
of serendipitous
conclusion beyond
this life, and what
love really means.

Loneliness isn't
synonymous to
being left out
or alone.

Well,
not for me.

Loneliness
is being
deprived of
warmth from
another

and

being struck
with
unattainable
peace.

Just you
with eternity
as your ruthless
companion.
