Illusions
This ever chocking sadness,
It comes now and then,
Squeezing the breath out of my lungs,
Leaving me breathless,
It squeezes me tight,
Rendering me paralyzed.
It's not easy putting on a warm smile,
It's hard wearing a fake mask.
It hurts.
Why does it get so much?
All I ever wanted was happiness,
As a reward for enduring this long.
I never ask for much,
Not that I could in th first place.
My dreams becomes just that: dreams.
Dreams of Illusion,
Illusions that never existed.
I want happiness,
I want to smile truly,
But that's too much to ask for.
