Headland
Land,
Embraced by water
Lapping its sandy shores.

Jagged cliffs,
A lighthouse is perched,
Stable, tall, guiding
Mariners home from aquatic affairs.

Rocks scattered,
And slicing waves
Where land once stood proud.
Soon, the headland will align
with the bay next door
Eroding,
Imperceptibly,
By the current that lashes
In the violent storms.

But, alas, Today is calm
Puffins perched in the crevices
Seals bathing
Here life is good
The sun shines brightly
Cloudless, warm
Beautiful.
