Heaven knows what hurt you felt
When I was not around,
The storms you faced all by yourself,
And terrors of the quaking ground,
The chilly days you had to endure
With no one to keep you warm,
Each time you ask for my proximity,
I'd wish I held you in my arms.

But dear, I love your smile
And the courage you have within,
It takes a lot to be brave and kind,
To stand up for what you believe in,
It takes so much to give a lot of love
While receiving just an ounce of it,
And I am simply proud of who you are,
Without doubting for a single bit.
