I had always enjoyed being a wallflower,
Going to great lengths to keep my name
Exclusive to my birth certificate
And other lifeless, legal documents.

I thought that even though the world was a shared space,
This didn’t mean I had to share every part of me with it.
Much of my growth happened in the secluded nook
Where two walls and a floor converge,
For that was the smallest angle in a room.

Perhaps Earth doesn’t have corners because it’s unconfined,
Meant for those who seek to explore
Rather than hide.
But perhaps, corners exist at a right angle
Because it feels just right for an angular person like me.

But when you spend most of your life
Existing within such a small space,
You start to meld into it.
Your skin changes,
Your figure starts to shrink,
And when you observe the world through a narrow vantage point,
It causes elements to fan out, to...
