Have you ever been in danger?
A life and death situation?
Where every breath becomes a stranger
And fear grips your heart with hesitation
The world around you starts to dim
As your body is consumed by pain
And in that moment, you're not so prim
As you realize your life could soon wane
You feel the blood seeping out
A crimson river flowing fast
And you're filled with a sudden doubt
Wondering if this breath could be your last
The pain is sharp, it's all-consuming
A reminder that life is fragile
And in this moment, there's no room for assuming
That you'll escape this perilous trial
Your mind starts to race
As you struggle to hold on
To the hope that you'll soon be in a safe place
But for now, it seems like all hope is gone
The thought of death is daunting
As you cling to every breath
And you realize in this moment
The fragility of life and death
But somehow, through the pain
You find the strength to fight
To push through and rise again
And conquer this darkest night
For in the face of danger
And a life and death situation
You find a courage you never knew
And a determination in the midst of devastation
And as you emerge from this trial
With scars and wounds that'll heal
You'll always remember the feeling
Of hurting yourself really bad, oh so real
For it's in those moments of pain and strife
That we learn the true value of life
And we cherish each breath we take
For in the face of danger, we're awake.
