I was born between a number line
Always told to smile and be kind
Yet I preferred a tougher style
And a new beginning started after awhile

Whispers of the most foul
Always followed me somehow
But that's not my story to say
You see these things have a funny sort of way

Of making night out of a perfectly warm day
And I'm not here to separate wrong from right
Not here too fracture the spotlight
I've just never been one to back down from a fight

So don't come too close
Because I've battled bigger demons and ghost
And tonight I just want to drink and toast
