Through the snow and ice he goes ,
With a girl in his arms, her life in the throes
Her blood stains the pure white ground

The winter air bites at his skin hearing the roars of the monsters gaining up
But he cannot stop, he cannot give in.

And whispers to her through the long, dark night

"Stay with me, don't leave me now
We'll make it through somehow

Until we reach shelter from the storm"

He trudges through the snow and sleet,

His heart heavy with the weight of defeat

And finally, after what feels like days
He sees a light through the fog and haze
He picks up his pace, his heart filled with hope
And soon he reaches the end of his rope

The girl in his arms is no longer breathing
But he knows that he did everything
To keep her safe, to keep her from harm
As he carries her into the shelter from the storm
