The Milk Jug

Tabeth my daughter, my one and only daughter,
Upon whom my last hopes hang,
The hopes of correcting my past mistakes,
Through whom I relive my past life,
Correcting every blot that soils my past self,
Tabeth, here is the milk jug, it's your turn now to carry it
O Tabeth, the customer awaits!
Be sure to keep the jug closed!

See this jug? It contains the purest milk there is
Whiter than white, untouched, unscathed,
No mortal can ever make it so, nor has to
For it always starts like that, without any man's effort
Yet it's your responsibility to keep it so,
You're to take this jug, there's a customer who requires it
It is only for that one customer, not many
It needs no marketing strategy,
Neither does it need to be advertised
If anything, it must be concealed from anyone's gaze
Keep the lid on, always

The journey to the customer is a maze
Infested with many distractions,
Which will attempt to lure your eyes away from the lid
So that they might throw their dirt inside
To shame you in the end,
So that you might be loathsome to the customer
Keep the lid on

No one should take the lead off
Not even you, the carrier of the milk
Only the customer has those privileges
O Tabeth, keep the lid on!

For this milk is your identity,
You're a girl because of this milk
Tamper with the milk, and your identity vanishes
Keep the lid on, keep the jug closed
For the milk will be presented to the customer
An honorable one, who deserves the best
Keep the lid on!
