The scratches on the walls
of your heart ache with memories.
So much you've seen,
a lot left behind.
You live in regret
in hopes of what could have been.
If only you had the courage,
the wisdom to fight the night.
What you didn't realise is
the sun made you grow.
While it burnt your eyes,
it baked your strength through the plight.
Now you've got the vision,
the mind to fight the battle.
Don't be afraid of this rain,
it pours to clear your sight.
You will overcome this too,
just like the winters bygone,
even a storm cannot stop you,
you now know how to make it right.
