The Truth
My hands shuddered as rapidly as my heart,
The confidence I held, in the nervy me,
Now flew away like a paper dart.
A lot with my conscience did I had dispute,
Just to stand before you and tell you the truth.

The lies behind,
Mocking and petrifying,
Tried to encroach in my sober truth,
The same lies, from which,
Living in your mind I needed to ensue.

I couldn't again be economical with the truth,
Never again!
Because lies take time, and is aloof.
While truth is said just once,
And less leads to a dispute.

So, finally that shuddered truth,
Came out of me,
& killed the reviving lies,
that had survived on my insanity.

A single truth relieved me,
From the burden of all the untold lies,
And made that pain,
Haunting me every night & morn,
To soothe, and then vanish,
Behind the drapes of the truth.
