A Nostalgic Holiday
Do you remember the days
When if you pressed play
It would play straight away
The price for songs in their thousands
Is waiting for atleast thirty seconds
And all the adverts that beckons
Remember reading an article
Without being asked about Cookies?
I don't mean the choc chip varieties
Remember when a tv was a box
And only had four channels
Now they're flatscreens like panels
We used to go out to the flicks
Now we stay home and watch Netflix
Disney plus and Amazon Prime
Too much choice, not enough time
Mobile phones used to be bricks
Now they're tiny computers
Held to the ears of noisy commuters
They once had keys that you pressed
Now touchscreens for you to caress
Face to face conversation is a dying art
People prefer social media
So they can stay home and fart
Remember animatronics before CGI
Even robotic creatures like E.T.
Were able to make me cry
If I could go back to the eighties
Would I want to stay?
Maybe only for a little while
A nostalgic holiday
