Depression’s Grip
Surrounded with colours but I’m stuck in grey
Sunshine for others but it’s my cloudy day
Scorned in mind as distrust and dispute play
Sundered from my soul and my body is frail
Stormed upon by the demon of pain
Suffocating my soul to go down the drain
Subdued with emptiness from flesh to vein
Screaming at the top but silenced by the rain
Saddened and all within me is left to derail
Suddenly there’s no reason to fight or to stay
Solace found in this prison I lay
Suffered enough I should let go by the way
So I’d send out a wish for my soul out astray
Solemnly say a prayer that my plight go away
Surely do I hope this storm comes to an epic fail
Sadly the demon has a stain on my veil
Strongly, Depression has its grip on my tail.
