The year was halfway gone,
I had to leave,
With tears, I waved goodbye
To the ones who raised me.

The train glided silently,
A good time to think,
A smile lit up my face,
With hope for the future.

As I approached this foreign land,
Fear struck,
But I bravely pressed on,
Determined to make it work.

Then I met him,
Like a light,
His eyes were like jewels in the dark,
His Woody Scent was like trees in the jungle,
With masculine grace,
He captured my heart
So effortlessly,
I fell in love.

How devastated I felt,
He was promised to another,
She smiled at me,
With a soft friendly embrace,
I struggled to breath,
But still gave a bright smile.

Days turned into weeks,
I fell even deeper,
The sight of them together,
Tore me into shreds.

I was determined
To make him mine
He smiled but I wished he didn't
His smile was a venom
That trapped me.

With a sneer,
My love was trampled

My beloved said.

With conflicting emotions
I gave up what I held tightly
Like a treasure.

I mourned my loss for days to come,

Her name was constantly on his lips,

My beloved spat venomous words,
Bitter enough to crush an ant!
But I held on,
Determined to make it work!

Like a bee,
He buzzed around my ears,
Chanting songs that are sung
By demons,
To gather gold.

I had only love to give,
But he wanted gold.

To spite him,
I also wanted gold,
Then came the curses.

Few days to go,
I could hardly wait,
To leave the cursed land!
Back to my home.

Promises spilled from his lips
Like a witch's chant.

But I paid no heed.
Done with the pretense,
I left with no turning back,
Leaving behind my treasure,
And coming home with chaff.

But their smiles welcomed me home,
And healed my weary heart...
