The Ferry Man
#WritcoPoemPrompt8
Every soul that passes the gate,
Has passed a test of fate,
Trudging along on tired feet,
Almost there, refusing to be beat. upon the river’s edge so dim,
I stand, a soul, yet light and grim.
Ferryman of silent night,
Take me across, away from light.

With coins as cold as shadows cast,
Let me sail these waters vast.
Guide me through the mist and dark,
To fields beyond this fading spark.

For every breath and every sin,
This journey’s end must now begin.
O Charon, steady, firm, and wise,
Take me where the spirit lies.

No words are left, no deeds undone—
Just silence, now, and river’s hum.
