someone once asked me if I've ever chased a rainbow
he asked if there was really a pot of gold down below
I looked at him n smiled I told him I don't know
I said the closer I got the brighter the colors shined
but a pot of gold I did not find

he looked at me n laughed he said bullshit

as a child I was so carefree nothing n no one bothered me
I could get all dirty n play till the street lights came on
now I'm all grown up n those days are gone
boy how I miss those summer days
now I got kids of my own to raise
I chase my dreams now I used to chase rainbows n butterflies
