I proposed to her my love, she wants to leave
I proposed money, with me, she decided to live
Then I had to let go and leave
Because with me, she was not worthy to live

She wanted my money, but only my heart, I was ready to give
She seemed to be a thief
Without thinking twice, I instructed her to leave
Because my heart, I was not ready to betroth to a thief

She returned to plead for me to forgive
She explained the reason she didn't want to give
Said that she was afraid of losing her heart to a thief
Though it was hard, but I had to believe

I had no option than to forgive
Because I could see that we were both afraid of falling in the hand of a thief.
