While growing up, I forgot to pause,
I was hurrying to escape rules, then I discovered there were also laws!
As a kid, you'd feel time is slow
As an adult, life goes beyond “hello”
Don't blame yourself, it's the passage of time

As days roll into weeks and weeks into months.
You find out that the life of an adult is less than enough.
“It's nothing to be sad about”, someone once said
Maybe it will be when your dreams keep you out of bed.
Maybe that time, it will be the fault of time.

“When I grow, I'd buy a jet and a big house”
All these adults heard and espoused
Nobody deemed it fit to talk,
Nobody was ready to even mock.
Now I regret why I couldn't read their silence
I took no note of the restless ambience.
Nothing can be done, it's just a passage in time.

A guidance counselor was all I lacked
