Taking steps,
Towards the ledge,
Fallings slowly,

Taking leaps,
Forward motion,
Salt and brine,
Down you seep,

Rivers flowing,
Underwater,
Upwards gazing,
Moonlight glowing,

Rushing forward,
Side to side,
Which way is forward,
When you're blind?

Water gushing,
Burning eyes,
Lost but found,
Truth yet lies,

To cross the threshold,
You must find it,
But where to look,
Astray by cold,

Strike the match,
Ignite the spark,
Hope flowers,
Opening the latch,

Clawing back,
To douse the flames,
Mouth opens,
Bearing fangs,

Wasting breath,
Losing chances,
One last leap,
To make an advance,

Taking the step,
Breaking away,
Crossing the threshold,
Here to stay,

Where the grass is greener,
On the other side,
Such small moments,
Create such big pride.
