A Lament for a Departed Heart
O Life, be gentle with my broken heart,
Now marred by love that once did brightly shine.
For him who left, and tore my world apart,
I ask for kindness in this mournful time.

The echoes of his absence pierce so cold,
A void where once his warmth did gently stay.
Yet in the depths where shattered dreams unfold,
I seek some peace to guide me through this gray.

Let not the sorrow drive me to despair,
Nor bitterness consume my fragile soul.
In moments fraught with memories laid bare,
May healing come and help my spirit whole.

O Life, in mercy's touch, I beg a part,
To mend the wounds he left upon my heart.
