The Little Things
#WritcoPoemPrompt43
Write a poem on how to do something mundane most people take for granted, such as how to tie your shoes, how to turn on a lamp, how to pour a cup of coffee.
I wake to a new day forgetting the day before,
I see the sun shining through the widowsill,
Put one foot down and then the other,
Rise to make my way to the kitchen,
And find myself lying on the floor,
I have MS and everyday I wake up
and think my legs are just going to be there,
that I can just make it to the kitchen to
make me that fresh cup of coffee or
step out on the balcony to feel warm
sun on my face. It's the "little things."
