Writing silently
Observing
Yet indifferent

Words of nourishment
Of the truthful optimist
The world fades around
Only thoughts and a pen
Friends and family
Pass away quietly
The air of the room
Becomes the center piece

Friend disappears
Presence unnoticed
Family walks away
Far too late to dilate
Fate whims with a grin
Cupping the thoughts from within
Pulling, down, under the mountains
Of the shrines to Cadmus
