Entangled Roots #16

There stands In the heart of the African Savannah
A Giant Baobab Tree.
This phenomenon
has witnessed thousands of years of Earth's drastic changes,
yet still,
The Baobab remains towering the same.
An emblem of resilience,
Through droughts and squalls, it defies all to withstand.
A monument of perseverance,
Through spans In a harsh and treacherous land.
It has stood tall for centuries
With Entangled Roots that run deep.
In one’s time of unblissful failings to keep,
It leaves a person in awe, embracing any lost soul that seeks
A sense of comfort and peace
In a world that is oh so bare and bleak.
A beacon of expectancy and boldness,
As if this great tree grows
with its entangled roots upended in a sort of forward leap,
At length.
The Entangled Roots
Beneath this gargantuan Topiary reaches even more deep.
Its large hollow trunk is verdant and gnarled,
A testament to its solidity and longevity.
An emblem of resilience
That stretches out its reddish-gray bark
as if it is attempting to grab a cloud.
Its limbs reach out like a Giant’s arms
embracing an innocent child.
This Giant adapts to its ever-changing surrounds,
Never once shrinking or backing down.
A haven for creatures and humans alike,
Sheltering us from harm,
from the storms of many days and nights.
It has enabled me to find stability in the face of strife,
To embrace fierce change with grace.
So one's own life is reembraced.
The Giant Baobab Tree
It is the Mother of the Forest,
A true wonder of the world,
Under its single umbrella-like crown,
as well as under the ground,
It wonderfully unfurls.
