As I went recollecting my past ( for mom)
This poem is for my mother..

My life is an open book,
That led me through every nook,
And every corner of discovery,
Of life's long journey

As I went recollecting my past,
My childhood held my hand,
That cute innocent smile of her,
Made me give her a chocolate

As I went recollecting my past,
A topper of 8th grade waved to me,
Her curly brown hair and freckles,
Made me give her blessings

As I went recollecting my past,
A young lady with ambitions helped me cross the road,
She wore a pant-suit set, it seemed her first interview,
Which, made me wish her luck

As I went recollecting my past,
I saw a bride bidding adieu to her family,
Her tear filled eye and sadness,
Made me give her hope, hope of being happy

As I went recollecting my past,
I saw a mother playing with her daughter,
Her happiness and excitement,
Made me give her a teddy

As I went recollecting my past,
I saw a brave hardworking software engineer,
Her hardwork and success,
Made me give her praise and a pat at her back.
