Unspoken in the Crowd

In city streets, I find my place
Amongst the faces, a hidden space
Where thoughts are masked and emotions sleep
And silence screams, while voices creep

In crowded rooms, I search for air
A breath of truth, beyond the glare
Of superficial smiles and vacant stares
A longing to connect, beyond the snares

But words remain unspoken, lost in din
As strangers' eyes meet, then quickly spin
Away from depth, from true embrace
Leaving solitude in a crowded space

In urban noise, I hear my heart
A lonely beat, a quiet part
Yearning to break free from disguise
And find authentic, open eyes

Yet, in this sea of unknown faces
I'll hold on to hopeful, hidden places
Where love and kindness still reside
And connections wait, patiently inside.
