I walk across the golden sands,
Leaving footsteps of my memories,
Follow me across the lands,
Let's celebrate our victories.
Show me that you can be trusted
With my deepest vulnerability,
And I will allow you to see
The most authentic part of me.
Life is short and dreams unravel,
Disenchantment can seem to be alive.
But when we can walk with someone sympatico,
We see our dreams through different eyes.
Follow my footsteps in the golden sand,
Or perhaps I will follow yours.
It doesn't matter who leads or who follows,
It matters that our trust and honesty endures.
For lack of trust, gives life to suspicions.
And without honesty nothing real can survive.
Life lived inauthentically is fertile ground
For our disappointments to come alive.
If we can walk in honesty and truth,
Take my hand, now and I will take yours.
We will freely search the world for our dreams
For as long as our trust and love endures.
