Safety in Proximity
It starts somewhere in my body
And then it moves into my mind
It bounces from one to the other,
This wishing you were mine.
I see it when I'm searching
the depth beneath your eyes...
And when I find I'm wanting
To share with you my time.
My breath, it quickens near you,
And I'm looking for the signs.
I bite my lip, and with shaking hands,
I reach to pull you to my side.
Cuz I feel like that's where you should be,
And consequently it feels right.
So let me take your hand, your heart
Is safe as long as it is in my sight.
And then it moves into my mind
It bounces from one to the other,
This wishing you were mine.
I see it when I'm searching
the depth beneath your eyes...
And when I find I'm wanting
To share with you my time.
My breath, it quickens near you,
And I'm looking for the signs.
I bite my lip, and with shaking hands,
I reach to pull you to my side.
Cuz I feel like that's where you should be,
And consequently it feels right.
So let me take your hand, your heart
Is safe as long as it is in my sight.
