Midnight Musings
Midnight Musings

The days were unending as were the nights,
She waited and waited and waited
But there seemed no hope in sight,
pounding of heart began to be fainted

She was told that he would come,
desperate with time she had become
They said he will be with her soon,
long gone summer now monsoon

A hope so desperate she held out,
Memories followed out and about
Waiting for him to come by,
Still no sign years gone by

People had been cocooning her,
Foresaying tales of how he'd meet her
She basked a bit in their tales,
Deep down knowing her hope stales

Yet she wore his favorite dress,
Awaiting his arrival to impress
The dress now had come unfitting,
As she became so scrawny by waiting

The roses on the table withered,
The Pinot noir & Merlot had expired
Everything had experienced changes,
Yet she and her hope never scatters

She was advised to move on,
Without him how could she carry on
All the years of waiting patiently,
weaving all the best memories aptly

Now people persuaded her to stop,
trying to convince her calling it a mishap
The people who asked her to keep hope above all,
Now adviced her to stop being a dope and forget all

She was advised to move on,
Without him how could she carry on
All the years of waiting patiently,
weaving all the best memories aptly

Her love for him knew no bounds,
As for doubts there were no grounds
She couldn't trust anyone anymore,
Only her woven memories were credible & nothing more!
