Shattered Illusions
One day she was sitting there
Thinking about him and her,
That shabby place was quiet enough
The thoughts were like a nightmare.
To be with him or not was the question
And she chose not to get dim,
Because deep inside her heart she knew
Maybe she was too much for him.
Or maybe he wasn't enough anyways
Someone for whom she invested her nights and days,
Still she kept on coming back to him
Thinking of his stupid familiar face.
He was someone she'd had died for
Someone for whom she would've lied for,
Someone who could be a part of her world
But Someone who she just cried for.
And then she took back her pain
Seeing all of her efforts in vain,
She smiled, with her broken heart
And left that wounding lane.
She learned she was made for more
Than just "being" caring and kind
And now she is on her own,
Recollecting her peace of mind.
