You were my miracle
gliding along
my waterlogged roads.
With every step
turning those paved rivers
into full-bodied wine.
Each sip of you
intoxicating
that red-rapid
heady bloodstream of mine.

And those feet
were so used to walking
solely on wet cement
which cools the sear of hot coals.
Crossing the line
between debasement and trials.
