A lone bird caged in the shackles
Screams for freedom but is heard by none
They think the bird's singing when her soul comes undone
Glancing up at the sky she wishes for an escape
Understood by none she wails for the wind's embrace
Her wings look enchanting to the eyes scanning her form
But in her mind they are bruised and broken from the constant onslaught
"What would become of me if I was free?" she wonders
While they smile and laugh looking at the caged wonder
Fed and watered she had to care for none
But the damned soul she was wanted to run
At night she'd look at the stars and wonder
"Would I be able to reach them if I get out of this cage?"
Yet her efforts were futile and the bird couldn't escape
She heard someone speak, "THE ONE'S WHO DIE BECOMES A STAR"
And her wish for freedom suddenly didn't seem so far
"The sky is beautiful and I dream of shining bright in it" she mumbled
With her throat inside the bars she starved herself till slumber
Now she's no longer caged inside those shackles
With her soul shining till eternity she let the cage shatter!
