Take Me to Space
Take me to space again
like you once did.
Show me all the constellations
with their legends and their myths
that I'll never understand,
and connect the starry-dots
in my brain
to light them up.
Cross the starry-dots of my pupils
to light a constellation
within me.
Take me to space again
like you once did.
Take me to your space,
where we can dance on Saturn's rings
like on our own runway stage,
and twirl them like I twirl your hair.
Envelope me in that endless abyss,
encapsulate me in that moment,
wrap me in that ring,
in a ring from you to me;
a ring that comes with a question
whether commitment and religion
is just a currency.
And if it was,
you could overturn my pockets
and take me whole.
A question of who we are,
what we are, where we are.
Teary cerulean-glazed eyes
watch cerulean-glazed skies
because the answer will always be simple-
"I don't know."
Take me to space again
like you once did
and take my soul yet somehow
make me whole.
Harmonise with the space dust,
piroutte across the milky way,
and leap off the stars;
stars that you are amongst now.
Take me to space again
like you once did
let me combust
and not be left like before.
Proud and robust!
For you.
Can two stars form a constellation?
I don't know,
you would though.
I'll still say we're a constellation,
a shimmering landmark of a line.
Take me to space again,
like you once did.
Be in my space again
like you once were.
They say that's where you belong,
with your fellow stars,
but no,
you belong with me,
in our space.
