The Vanishing Hitchhiker
#UrbanLegends

In twilight’s hush, a road unwinds,
Through mist and shadows, secrets bind.
A car glides smooth on asphalt's thread,
While tales of old swirl in my head.

A figure looms, a hitchhiker pale,
With eyes that speak a mournful tale.
I stop, entranced, and open wide,
She steps within, a ghostly guide.

Her voice a whisper, soft as rain,
She tells of love and endless pain.
A lover lost on this same route,
A broken heart, a silent shout.

In townsfolk’s tales, she disappears,
A specter veiled in bygone years.
But here she sits, her presence real,
A soul to touch, a wound to heal.

Her story twists, a change of fate,
No restless ghost, but love’s pure state.
For every night she seeks a ride,
To find her love on the other side.

We drive through time, past loss and fear,
Her spirit’s light so crystal clear.
In dawn's embrace, she fades away,
Her journey’s end in break of day.

No longer lost, no haunting wraith,
But love’s true path and boundless faith.
The vanishing hitchhiker’s plight,
Transformed to hope in morning’s light.
